[Dion looks a touch self-conscious as Joshua nears. It's only porridge, but it's clear from the look and smell of it that it's been sweetened with a mix of honey and chopped strawberry]
[Oh. That's not what he's expecting at all, and it's rather much. He occupies himself with taking the pot off the heated metal surface and closes its door as well as the vents to let the fire within begin to peter out]
While I'm not averse to the idea, there are only the two rooms..
[He supposes that makes sense, and in all honesty, he certainly feels more at ease with Joshua than Ifrit or Shiva and imagines them sharing closer space would be manageable enough]
I do. [He moves to portion the porridge into the two bowls set on the table. Cooking for two is fine, but he isn't sure he'll manage four] Occasionally, anyway- when I'm drunk or particularly exhausted. I'm told I sound like a dragonet.
[Dion glances about as he sets the pot to soak in the sink and fetches spoons for their breakfast. It's a small house, but four people could reasonably fit. If he wants peace, he often visits the docks.
I told Jill I will not leave her and we agreed, upon meeting, that we would stay together. Clive, well...he is my brother and I refuse to leave his side again. Not after everything that happened.
[Not after everything Clive doesn't know happened. He takes the utensil with a quiet thanks before sitting down.]
So no...I haven't exactly spoken to them about this, but I know they will accept if I ask.
[Little brother privilege: rarely was he denied what he wanted.]
[It's the first time Dion looks at Joshua and can see an echo of his mother. While vaguely disquieting, being aware of and utilizing one's influence is a game they all have played.
He takes his seat with a considering hum] Suppose I will be spending the day getting everything ready then.
[He was, ultimately, his mother's son. Sure, Joshua had a wonderfully kind heart, but that did not mean he didn't know how to get what he wanted either. Thankfully, he wasn't a manipulative person by nature. Clive had raised him well in that regard.]
And I will help you! Naturally. Thank you for the meal again, by the way...you have done much to make me feel welcome.
Do no thank me until you have tried it. My previous attempt did not turn out well.
[But this has rather more going for it- or should. Dion dips his spoon in and samples it. It is sweet, if a little moreso than he'd thought. Perhaps the strawberries should have been added in afterward. But, well, it's certainly edible]
I hope either Ifrit or Shiva are at least passingly familiar with cookery.
[He sticks his spoon into the bowl at that, figuring he ought to try it. It is sweet, but that isn't a bad thing as far as Joshua's concerned. He did have a bit of a sweet tooth.]
It's good. As for Clive and Jill...I do believe they'd have had more experience than I. That said, I am willing to learn.
[He starts off, stirring his spoon through the remnants of his breakfast.]
Clive is my brother, and Jill is like a sister to me...and you, Dion, are my friend. I would imagine after everything we have all endured together, we are familiar enough that nerves ought to not be a concern.
[Joshua is at the center of them, whereas Dion is the outlier. He is not terribly reassured, but neither is he willing to belabor the point and sow doubt. It would be a simple matter for Joshua to break from him to stay with his family.
He musters a smile] Of course. Now, shall we consider separate beds for Jill and your brother, or one larger one?
[It wouldn't be as simple as Dion thinks. Joshua doesn't want to leave the dragoon's side; in all honesty, he worries for him. It's better that none of them are separated.]
I think one larger one would do them a world of good.
[Joshua, the forever wingman for his older brother.]

..And what might that be?

[Hands bare from his gloves he fiddles with the edge of his sleeve.]
I wish to have them close, if possible, and I think it would be nice to be under the same roof once more.

Well, Clive and Jill would share a room...and you and I one, if you would be okay with that. I promise I do not snore.

[That gets an immediate chuckle out of Joshua, smile sunny as he watches Dion spoon out two portions of porridge.]
Well, it will not be a bother to me, I assure you...and we will all pull our weight as well, of course.
no subject
He holds the utensil out to Joshua]
Have you already spoken with them?

[Not after everything Clive doesn't know happened. He takes the utensil with a quiet thanks before sitting down.]
So no...I haven't exactly spoken to them about this, but I know they will accept if I ask.

[He smiles and idly turns his thoughts toward all that needs addressed, but it is rather a lot]
But I suppose it will work out one way or another. Had we all our Eikons, I would be more nervous.
no subject
Nervous? Why?
no subject
Four Dominants sharing one small house would make anyone nervous.
[But he supposes the three of them are far more familiar with each other than he is with any of them. Perhaps his own nerves are singular after all]

Then we'll move your bed into mine and see about finding them one. Should make for a rather eventful day.
